Modern Build Design?...Time for something new!

by DeanChristopher @ 2007-11-25 - 19:54:20

Here at Creative UPVC we pride ourselves on our expertise in design & installation solutions.

We recognise the Modern Build house of today in most cases seem to lack a distinct touch of style when it comes to windows & doors.

The Modern Build design tends to focus more on their builds fixtures & fittings which is all well & good, but what about the window & door installations?

We have recently experienced a surge in Modern Build owners expressing their needs for more bespoke features externally for their homes.
Modern Build-New front entrance design/installation-Creative UPVC Solutions,2007.

This Modern Build property featured below is an installation we designed in the Summer of 2007.
This is a split level build with the living room upstairs & bedrooms downstairs.
Our client wanted the living room window removed because they had no view & wanted to incorporate the outside views into their living space.
We removed the window & "knocked out" the internal/external walls to floor level then installed a bespoke window frame.

Country Cottage Chic...

by DeanChristopher @ 2007-11-21 - 22:47:50

"Absolutely Thrilled"...said Mrs James of Cowbridge, Vale of Glamorgan.

Mrs James was concerned about choosing P.V.C-U windows & doors for her 100 year old cottage.
Mr & Mrs James thought timber frames may be more "in keeping" with the property & surrounding area.

We provided the perfect solution..."Light Oak" timber effect P.V.C-U!

As you can see, this design & effect is very in keeping with the cottage.
We added a light oak georgian bar inside the 28mm double glazed glass units, this option creates the look of wood throughout the window & door units.

Creative designed & built the above Apex roof onto exsisting porch & cladded the face with Light Oak pvc soffit boards. We also replaced old timber soffits & facia rooflines in light oak pvc & replaced gutters & downpipes with Marshall Tufflex caramel pvc...

Look how this complete solution "stands out" from the rest!

Top 5 tips when choosing new windows/doors or a conservatory...

TOP 5 TIPS FROM THE EXPERTS!

When choosing new pvc-u windows/doors or a conservatory this Winter.

By Dean Edmonds – Director Creative UPVC Solutions Ltd.
(as featured in Homes & Gardens-Barry/Bridgend/Llantwit Gem,08/Nov/2007).

1, Ensure you only deal with Companies that are FENSA registered.
FENSA is the governing body that installers must self certify there work to adhere to the government energy efficiency regulations & provide you with the relevant certificate on completion.

2, Before committing to any company, ensure that they offer you a 10 year guarantee on their products/working parts & workmanship.
Most companies should be more than confident in their services & provide additional guarantees that are insurance backed for your peace of mind.

3, Security:
Ask for a demonstration of windows/doors, ask questions on locking systems, look out for at least 3 point locking on window sashes & at least 5 locking points on doors, these should include claw lock functions.
All products should feature internally glazed beads as standard.

4, Don’t be afraid to ask questions…
Companies should be confident in their knowledge of design options that suit your needs & should have a vast range of feature products, ask to see brochures.

5, Obtain 3 quotes:
This gives you an opportunity to make your decision based on various qualities of each company & how they will work for you.
Be wary of accepting the cheapest quotation…remember, you get what you pay for!
Consider the “middle of the road” quotation as this should cover all of the above tips!
